Accelerating the transition to a better energy future

Supporting the Energy Transition

As the oil and gas industry transitions to reach net zero targets, here at SPE Offshore Europe we are also transitioning. Our long-term goal is to continue to provide unique business opportunities, content and support for the industry. With our virtual conference in September 2021 and our live event in February 2022, our events will consolidate COP26, holding a firm focus on energy transition and what the future holds for the oil and gas community.

‘Oil & gas: working together for a net zero future’

With our 2021 theme of ‘oil & gas: working together for a net zero future’ our Virtual Conference, that took place from 7-10 September, was strongly focused on the industry’s role in delivering net zero, creating an opportunity to collaborate and share our ideas for the energy transition roadmap. We have provided a unique learning opportunity ahead of COP26 as strategies, experiences and technologies were presented to the industry over four days of unmissable content.

Virtual Conference sessions you won’t want to miss

CCUS and Hydrogen: Can we Deliver at Scale?

Co-hosted by NZTC and NECCUS, this session hosted speakers from government to industry to technology developers and explored what has been done already and what more is needed to achieve the full environmental and economic benefits that Hydrogen and CCUS promise.

Road to Net Zero – Will our Actions get us There?

In order to reach net zero, the industry needs a new era of collaboration and co-ordination. This session mapped the road towards decarbonising the oil and gas industry: the role the industry must play; the challenges and opportunities; and ask the question “will it be enough?”

Scaling up Digital to Enable Low-Carbon O&G Industry

Our panellists for this session come from the oil and gas industry and beyond—from diverse backgrounds and varied subject matter expertise. The speakers have shared real-world examples addressing thought-provoking questions on how to enable a low carbon O&G industry.

Make progress towards a lower carbon future at our dedicated energy transition arenas

The offshore industry has an important role to play in the transition to the low carbon economy. At our face to face event in 2022, join us to explore what the future will look like and how we can succeed in achieving our net zero goals. The Energy Transition Theatre and Zone is where we will shine a light on the ongoing challenges E&P have regarding the transition to net zero. We will focus on providing exciting opportunities for discussion, technology showcases, and thought leadership insights, all centred around pushing further and faster for energy transition.

Energy Transition Theatre

Located in hall 3, the energy transition theatre features three days of cutting edge insights, thought leadership strategies, and vital technologies to help us transition to a lower carbon economy.

Energy Transition Zone

Located on the exhibition floor, this zone is for Operators, Service and Technology companies preparing the oil and gas sector for a lower-carbon future. These are technologies that will guide us through the energy transition.

The future of oil and gas is in our hands and working together is crucial to remain relevant and in the energy mix.
