Standardisation

Keynote Programme Session: Standardisation - Why can’t we be like other sectors?

Synopsis

Other than livery, décor and seating configurations, every commercial airline model is virtually identical to its counterpart across the industry, including safety features. No airline commissions planes of its own engineering design.

What can our industry learn from aviation and other sectors – such as automotive -- to become more standardised, with higher efficiency and reduced costs? We will also discuss standardisation in the field of safety – where a difference can be made. Industry-standard Life Saving Rules as an example.
