Oil & Gas: Working Together for a Net Zero Future

This September we’ve created a space for the oil and gas industry to come together to hear from industry thought-leaders as we discussed and debated our route to Net Zero. Whilst face-to-face was not possible this year, our Virtual Conference served to unite the offshore energy community and move the industry forward.

The Virtual conference was strongly focused on the energy transition and supporting the industry’s role in delivering net zero. With further high-level energy transition content at the face-to-face event in February 2022, SPE Offshore Europe has straddled COP26, providing a unique learning opportunity as strategies, experiences and technologies are shared. The conference included opening ceremony, plenary panel, keynote and technical sessions.

The event is over, but you can still watch sessions On-Demand!

“SPE Offshore Europe 2021 will provide a high-energy, relevant programme for industry, companies and the next generation”

Neil Saunders
Conference Chair, Executive Vice President Oilfield Equipment, Baker Hughes

The Programme

Created by specialist committees of industry thought leaders, the SPE Offshore Europe Virtual Conference is truly "by the industry, for the industry".

2021 Virtual Conference Chair Neil Saunders, Executive Vice President Oilfield Equipment, at Baker Hughes, said: “The future of oil & gas is in our hands and working together is crucial to remaining relevant and in the energy mix.”

“This year the world has endured a global pandemic and a resulting economic slowdown. This is not the first time that we have had economic slowdowns and all industrial sectors were affected.  However, in the energy industry one dynamic emerged as a constant; the energy transition is accelerating and the Oil and Gas Industry recognises it has a significant part to play. For Offshore Europe 2021 we are partnering with the key stakeholders in the region including Equinor, Shell, BP, Chevron, Total, Chrysaor, CNOOC International, Aker BP, Neptune Energy, Wood, Worley, Aker Solutions, Petrofac, Schlumberger, TechnipFMC and many others, with the same goal and vision in mind - to reduce the carbon footprint of the oil and gas industry.”

Call for papers is now closed for the 2021 SPE Offshore Europe Virtual Conference programme. We will be opening call for papers for SPE Offshore Europe 2023 in September 2022. For more information please contact formslondon@spe.org

In Partnership with SPE

Our conference is known as a source of high-quality independent content, delivered by the industry’s leading voices and backed by The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). No other event offers the industry this level of commercial, strategic and technical learning free of charge.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit professional association whose more than 140,600 members in 144 countries are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production. SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge providing opportunities to exchange information at in-person and online events and training courses, publications, and other resources.
