Welcome Letter for Call for Abstracts
Dear Energy Industry, Partnering Industries and university Colleagues,
We believe that Offshore Europe 2027 will be a pivotal event, addressing the most pressing topics facing the energy sector, including energy security, digital transformation, operational excellence, and the transition to a lower-carbon future. We warmly invite you to submit a technical paper proposal for presentation at OE27, taking place from 7–9 September 2027 at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland.
With the overarching theme of “(Em)Powering Europe: Securing Our Energy Future”, the event aims to deliver a contemporary yet balanced technical programme, covering emerging areas of interest while continuing to showcase the traditional strengths of our industry.
The conference programme is structured around three interconnected priorities: Delivering Responsibly, Driving Prosperity, and Strengthening Capability and Innovation.
Delivering Responsibly focuses on advancing a responsible energy future through sustainable projects and operations, supporting low-carbon solutions and methane emissions reduction, improving operational performance, and addressing the opportunities and challenges associated with Underground Energy Storage. These topics highlight the industry's commitment to balancing energy security, environmental stewardship, and societal expectations.
Driving Prosperity will explore how the energy sector can maximize value through Marginal and Mature Field Management, efficient resource development, and the deployment of technologies and practices that enhance competitiveness while supporting economic growth and long-term energy resilience.
Strengthening Capability and Innovation will showcase the transformative role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence in improving Drilling, Completion, and Subsurface Operations, while also highlighting the importance of developing the skills, expertise, and diverse perspectives required for the future workforce. For the first time, the technical programme will include a dedicated focus on Talent Development and Diversity, recognizing that attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent is essential to driving innovation and delivering the energy systems of tomorrow.
Together, these themes reflect the comprehensive and forward-looking agenda of Offshore Europe 2027. We encourage you to submit high quality technical paper proposal that showcases innovative solutions, lessons learned, case studies, and emerging technologies aligned with our core themes. Whether your work demonstrates operational excellence, advances decarbonisation, unlocks value from existing assets, accelerates digital transformation, or develops the workforce of the future, your insights can help shape the conversations and decisions that will influence the future of the energy industry.
This is an opportunity to share your expertise with an international audience of industry leaders, technical specialists, policymakers, and partners, while contributing to a collaborative dialogue on securing Europe's energy future. We look forward to receiving your submission and to showcasing the best technical thinking from across the energy value chain at Offshore Europe 2027.
Kind regards,
