Message from Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to invite the submission of proposals for technical papers to be presented at the SPE Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition 2013.

As you know, the biennial conference and exhibition is by far the largest oil and gas event of its type in Europe. It is, quite simply, the most important showcase for our industry in this region.

September 2013 will be the fortieth anniversary of SPE Offshore Europe and we hope that you will join us in making sure that it provides an unrivalled opportunity for engagement and sharing of knowledge and information across the industry. The four day conference will be forward looking and aspirational in nature and accordingly entitled “Offshore Europe – the next 50 years”.

We have selected a strong set of themes around which we will structure the conference panel sessions and more information about these will follow later in the year.

Running alongside the conference panel sessions, the technical sessions present an unparalleled opportunity to showcase and discuss the latest technical views and developments within our industry with your industry peers. We now wish to invite proposals for papers on the full range of technical issues related to offshore oil and gas exploration and production, Click here to see the suggested topics but please do not let this list constrain you if you have a relevant proposal not covered by these categories.

In addition to the technical sessions and the panel sessions there will also be the ever popular topical lunches and business breakfasts.

SPE Offshore Europe 2013 presents a great opportunity for the oil and gas family to come together at all levels to reflect on our achievements, debate our current challenges, and develop ideas for the next 50 years of our industry. SPE Offshore Europe has a proud history of lively and well informed debate and 2013 will continue in that fine tradition.

I look forward to another excellent crop of proposals for technical papers and to seeing you in Aberdeen in September 2013
