  • SPE’s Inspire Programme is a series of activities, workshops and lectures specifically focused on supporting and informing young people who are interested in joining the oil and gas industry or just beginning their careers. By engaging with local schools, universities and young professionals these programmes hope to help encourage STEM topics and introduce a new generation into this incredibly diverse and exciting industry.

    This programme is developed by the Inspire Programme Committee with support from the Young Member Engagement Committee.

    School Engagement Programme

    Sponsored by:

    Wednesday 6 September (13-14 yr. olds) and Thursday 7 September (15-17yr. olds) (Invitation only)
    The School Engagement Programme invites students from around Scotland to get a taste of Offshore Europe, experienced and young professionals will provide the necessary insight into engineering and help highlight the importance of focusing on science and engineering during their school years. Students will have the change to answer questions and tour around the Exhibition and meet with various companies.

  • Young Member Programmes

    Monday 4 September - Thursday 7 September (limited spaces available for each activity please email us to save your space.)

    University level students and young professionals are welcome to attend a series of activities addressing skills and concerns for those starting in the oil and gas industry. Events include one to one meetings with professionals, communication skills and CV writing workshops as well as keynote lectures covering how the industry will change and develop in the years ahead.   • SPE Cares - Beach Cleaning at the River Don

    Friday 8 September (limited spaces available please email us to save your space.)
    SPE Cares started in 2016 with the aim to give back to the communities hosting our conferences. This year at Offshore Europe we are working with the Marine Conservation Society to arrange a beach clean up at the North Side of the River Don. Equipment and transport can only be provided for 30 people so please book in advance to guarantee your place.

    Energise Your Future

    Friday 8 September (Invitation only)
    A talented and enthusiastic workforce is one of the industry’s most important assets. OPITO’s ‘Energise Your Future’ events bring together local school pupils and the oil and gas industry to inspire the next generation.
                                       
    OPITO works with industry leaders attending the OE exhibition and invites secondary level school pupils to engaging and informative presentations, highlighting the exciting opportunities the industry has to offer to the workforce of the future.

    Since the first Energise Your Future in Aberdeen in 2008, more than 11,000 secondary school students across the UK have been inspired to find out more about the oil industry.
