Women in Industry
Finding enough skilled people to meet the industry’s growing demand remains one of our key challenges. To make matters worse, the UK has the lowest proportion of female engineers in Europe. Why do so few girls study science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses? What can be done to reverse this trend? This session will include government representation and top level female executives from world-class companies. The topics covered in the session will include the attractiveness of the oil industry as a place for women to work, the challenges and empowering strategies that facilitate women to successfully lead in the oil industry and what can be done to encourage more girls, and women, to go into engineering and the oil and gas industry. Attendees will have an opportunity to put their questions to the speaker panel.
- Topical Lunch: Energy Markets – the short and long term
Thursday 5 September 1300-1430 hours
